Poem: My thoughts about your Open Mind

One should not say they have to have an open mind, to be a person, friend... That is jacked up. Here are my thoughts when you say you can be my friend because you have an open mind. The Earth was not flat, just because they thought it was at one time. I exist if… Continue reading Poem: My thoughts about your Open Mind

“Womb Man” versus “Woman with a Beard”; My thoughts, my story.

Cary G. Costello, Ph.D. shared this photo recently on social media.  They were born intersex, and refer to themselves also as a transgender man.  Like me, Cary gave birth to a baby.  After much pregnancy loss, I had two babies, and we adopted our youngest. I have been with my husband for twenty-eight years, this… Continue reading “Womb Man” versus “Woman with a Beard”; My thoughts, my story.

Bridge Building, Intersex Awareness, Intersex Erasure

Here is another sad example of Intersex Erasure:

Recently they have been trying to get the senate to pass a bill that would require Sex Ed to be LGBTQ inclusive.  This would be progress, this would be awesome even.  However, it still does not include intersex, nor the teaching of our intersex bodies. It is another example of intersex erasure.  Below I explain… Continue reading Here is another sad example of Intersex Erasure:

Gender is NOT Determined by Our Sex Chromosomes.

Yup, I used to have chromosome Dysphoria!  It was caused by science not catching up with my very real existence as an intersex nonconforming man.  Chromosome Dysphoria is very real.  Chromosome dysphoria happens when we are taught that only females can have XX chromosomes and males have XY chromosomes, and we believe this myth! To… Continue reading Gender is NOT Determined by Our Sex Chromosomes.

I often hear: “I can’t even imagine…”

I often sadly hear:  "I can't even imagine being a person like you."  It is done with great empathy, love, and care even. I know why this world failed to teach you about intersex people.  Sex Education even failed to teach me.  Worse, with surgeries and abortion Earth has tried to erase us off the… Continue reading I often hear: “I can’t even imagine…”

When you do not include the “I” in your human rights efforts, this is why it hurts me and other people born intersex:

I am not transgender.  I was born intersex.  But since I was raised the wrong gender, and had to reclaim my true gender, Guess what?   Almost everything that can happen to a gay person, lesbian, transgender person, or gender non-conforming queer person, has happened to me.    I now know I am not alone.… Continue reading When you do not include the “I” in your human rights efforts, this is why it hurts me and other people born intersex:

I am a BRIDGE BUILDER

As an emerging intersex activist, I have sadly witnessed a divide among the intersex community. I do not have to give details or specific incidences. My only suggestion, is let’s try to work as a team, let’s try to be accountable for our actions, let’s try to make amends, and accept amends.  I do NOT… Continue reading I am a BRIDGE BUILDER

How dare you say to my face, that it is ok if they had killed me as a fetus.

This article started a tidal wave, of heartbreak,  that I did not expect in my life.  Eliminating intersex babies is not a legitimate use of genetic embryo testing By Celeste Orr:  I quote here: "Eugenics is not a horrific memory of the past; it is an ongoing practice that hides under the guise of benevolent… Continue reading How dare you say to my face, that it is ok if they had killed me as a fetus.

Poem: Parts are Parts, and Venus and Mars can get over it.

Parts are parts! If it belongs to a girl, it's a girl part. If it belongs to a boy, it's a boy part. A penis is not just a boy part If it belongs to a girl it should not break your heart. A penis can be a girl part and Venus and Mars… Continue reading Poem: Parts are Parts, and Venus and Mars can get over it.
