All these organizations say it is time to give intersex children their self-determination over their own gender identity and allow the child to grow up to decide on their own if they need surgery or not.
Most surgeries done on intersex children are cosmetic in nature, unnecessary and done without the child’s informed consent. These cosmetic surgeries can wait for the child to grow up and to decide for themselves.
It is the human right of every intersex child that they are given self-determination over their own bodily integrity and their own gender identity.
