Some People in Power and Control Will Not Stop Regulating Our Intersex Lives as Nonconsenting Children.

My educational thoughts for the day:

We have all been taught by colonialism, and people in power and control, to pathologize human diversity. This language mostly comes from people of power who are white, endosex, cisgender, heterosexual men.

To this day, people in power and control invent what is “normal” and have judged, pathologized, and diagnosed human diversity. They invented racism, the binary gender construct, and who is considered intelligent too.

Due to all their societal control, to this day well intentioned people (who truly do not want to cause harm) will call us intersex people an “anomaly,” “ambiguous,” “disorder of sex development,” and “not normal.” With this language, some people in power and control will not stop regulating our intersex lives as nonconsenting children.

There is so much work to do to change language.

Please say instead: “bodily variations”, “intersex person,” or “intersex traits.” Human Diversity is beautiful. Intersex is beautiful. Please help me change language and correct yourself when you slip when writing or talking. I believe only in this way can intersex genital mutilation will be forced to end with innocent intersex children.

Changing culture is a must. We have to end Cultural Dysphoria! Many government officials, and some in the medical complex, will not budge. No surgery or forced coercion from an expert, surgeon, or government can tell us who we are.

Remember, in 2018, INTERSEX became my legal sex, with the first intersex birth certificate in Colorado. To me, this is my sex. My gender identity is a man. I am a nonconforming, intersex, gay man.

An intersex person can have any gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression. This means forced surgeries, as nonconsenting children, are going to have catastrophic consequences; and have done so much terrible harm.

Self-determination over our bodies, gender identity, sexual orientation, and with genital integrity is our human right. I am not against surgery and hormones when we are at the age of consent. However, no intersex children should be forced to have cosmetic, medically unnecessary genital changing surgeries.
