I will now use MOGAI instead of LGBTQIA+

mogai

Today marks the FIRST day of my changing everything I say to MOGAI, instead of LGBTQIA+

MOGAI is said: “Mo” + “gay” and/or M-O-G-A-I

“MOGAI” stands for marginalized orientations, marginalized gender alignments, and intersex.

M = Marginalized

O = Orientations:  Both Sexual Orientation and Romantic Orientation.

GA = Gender Alignments:  Both Gender Identity and Gender Expression.

I = Intersex Bodily Variations (that include chromosomes, hormones, genitals or reproductive system).

Examples of Marginalized Sexual Orientations:  Homosexual, Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Pansexual, Asexual, Ceterosexual, and others.

Examples of Marginalized Romantic OrientationsAromantic, Bi-Romantic, Ceteroromantic, Homoromantic, Panromantic and others.

Examples of Marginalized Gender Identities: Transgender, Non-Binary Gender, Gender Fluid, Gender Neutral, Intergender, Gender Nonconforming, Gender Queer, Demigender, Two-Spirited, Tri-Spirited, and others.

Examples of Marginalized Gender Expressions:  Drag Queens, Drag Kings, Cross-Dressers, Androgynous People, Butch Lesbians, Bears, Metrosexual, and more.

I like MOGAI because it obviously separates Sexual Orientation, Romantic Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Intersex.   By separating them all there is no risk of it being mixed up with one another or conflated.

I used to promote LGBTQIA+  but after talking to many people I realize that the added “+” at the end was representing too many other marginalized people.  I feel that MOGAI seems to work the best for the inclusion of everyone.  MOGAI will not, nor will it ever represent people who harm children or animals.  Anyone who says otherwise is spreading toxic rumors that are not true.

Here are a few pages breaking down Human Sexuality, which is vast and beautiful: Helpful MOGAI Definitions and Human Sexuality

MOGAI is said to have come from a group of high school students in the Toronto area in Canada.  If anyone has the actual source on the history of MOGAI, please e-mail me: anunnakiray@gmail.com.  Thank you.
