Poem: I am a Hermaphrodite

H     Honoring the way my body appears naked.
E     Now believing my body was born Exceptional.
R     Realizing I was lied to and deceived.
M    My Mother wanted me to be Anthony they were told to raise me a girl.
A     I was Assigned wrong at birth.
P     Not all Intersex People like being called Hermaphrodites.
H     I am a Hermaphrodite and I like giving (((Herm Hugs)))!
R     Rationalizing this is a beautiful word and to reclaim it with others.
O     I am Opening Minds and Opening Doors to a better world.
    Deliberately grabbing your attention.
I      When you have met one Intersex person, you have met one intersex person.
Some intersex people are Transgender too, some are not.
E     Elegance is a Hermaphrodite.

I have no more shame, and no body is shameful!

I was born intersex and I am PROUD!

Some of us are reclaiming ourselves as “Hermaphrodites.” Never call a person a hermaphrodite unless they have accepted this for themselves. Some intersex people do not like it. I am reclaiming this word for myself because this is how I appear naked and I am no longer ashamed!
