How to Add Intersex Responsibly to Your LGBTQ+ Human Rights Efforts

Here is a way to add the “I” for intersex, responsibly to LGBT+. 

Demographics show that about 50% of intersex people identify as LGBTQ+ in some way.  This means Intersex people will receive the collateral damage of homophobia, transphobia, queerphobia, in the form of intersex phobia. So please consider adding intersex responsibly to your human rights efforts.

Harm can come to intersex children and people when added to LGBTQ+ without accurate knowledge about the human rights violations happening to intersex babies and children. Especially when the wrong language pathologizes our existence.

Here is how to add the “I” with responsibility and care. Always include:
