Poem: Precious child, that came into my life

maxresdefault.jpg

Precious child, that came into my life,

To show me that my work is making a difference.

Your hugs, your love, a priceless gift.

To think, you thank me for showing you are not alone.

And yet, you are the one that made me feel that I am not alone.

Precious child, that came into my life.

Please realize that I had no one when I was your age.

This is a world I emerge into for the first time too.

I have the innocence of you, even though I am so old.

For the first time, like you, I see others born to this world like me.

For the first time, like you, I feel the same emotions to find out I am not alone.

Precious child, that came into my life,

thank you for showing me that this world can be different.

That you can be taught that your genitals are ok.

That your gender is ok.

That you are pure love.

Your mother is giving you the priceless gift of Self-Determination,

A GIFT only you can OPEN!

Your hand with her, with mine, and with others born like us, we will walk together.

Your intersex hug…..a priceless gift to my healing heart.

For you are truly a Gift from God!

And no matter how this world treats you,

Don’t forget that.

And always remember

You are NOT alone.
