Poem: Born An Outcast and Judged By Darkness

They taught us to hate ourselves

Innocence gone fast as young children

The Dark sludge came over our hearts fast

As children we listened to their judgement

Our being born outcasts must have scared them

So they attacked us with their words like swords

They must not have loved themselves

To hate their own child like this

But here we are as adults

We found each other broken because of this world

Alone

judging ourselves and hating ourselves

We no longer needed our abusers now dead

We learned how to break our own hearts

We keep their attack going

but why?

I hope we can learn to love ourselves

so that

we can love each other better

Life is short, my beloved friend

Love conquers all

But only if……

we let it

and to stop breaking our own hearts

Dedicated to my beloved Black Rose

My beloved child,
break your heart no longer.
Each time you judge yourself
you break your own heart.

You stop feeding on the love,
which is the wellspring of your vitality.
The time has come, your time
To live, to celebrate…
and to see the goodness that you are…

Let no one, no thing, no idea or ideal obstruct you
If one comes, even in the name of “Truth”,
forgive it for its unknowing

Do not fight
Let go
And breathe – into the goodness that you are.
